About the magazine

A monthly record of heritage, in Arabic and English.

“We read heritage closely — its crafts, its places, and the memory they carry.”

Our purpose

Marawad is a monthly magazine devoted to heritage and culture. Each issue gathers long-form writing, research and photography around a single theme.

It is published in full in both Arabic and English, so a reader meets every article in their own language, with nothing lost between the two.

Editorial board

The magazine is shaped by a small editorial team, each responsible for a part of every issue.

Editor-in-chief

Sets the direction of each issue and signs its foreword.

Managing Editor

Shepherds every article from first draft to publication.

Art Director

Shapes how the magazine reads on the page and on the screen.

How we publish

A new issue every month, each one complete in both Arabic and English. Nothing goes live until both languages are ready.

A lasting archive

Every issue joins a permanent archive — browsable by issue, section, contributor and topic, and never taken down.

Heritage is not a museum of the past, but a language the present still speaks.
